Please be advised that in accordance with The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta’s recommended fee schedule, Stillar Psychological will be increasing session fees for Registered and Provisional Psychologists by $15. This fee change will go into effect on January 1st 2025.

Fees Effective Jan 1, 2025: Registered Psychologists, $235 and Registered Provisional Psychologists, $205

We understand the financial and emotional stress that increasing fees can have. If you feel these rate changes will impact your ability to access services, please discuss the changes with your specific clinician.

Adult Counselling

We have a team of highly competent therapists who have specialized training to provide counselling to adults for a variety of mental health conditions. Our team consists of Registered Provisional Psychologists and Registered Psychologists. Our therapists have a minimum of a graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in counselling and are considered experts in the field of mental health and counselling.

Sian brings the qualities of kind-heartedness, clear boundaries, flexible techniques, sincerity, and humour to her work with her Adult Clients.. She actively engages and support clients, consultees, and students in her commitment to their growth, competency, and empowerment. She believes in the provision of collaborative care and if needed, can facilitate psychiatric referrals.

Sian has 14 years of progressive experience delivering trauma-specific care in community/clinical mental health and private practice, also offering psychological assessment services and psychotherapy to adults.

She has specialized training in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma. This can range from treating single traumatic events to the more complex histories of adverse childhood experiences, other relational traumas and attachment issues, to psychosis and dissociative disorders.

Sian has experience with people of all sexual orientations and many ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Although multidisciplinary, the tools and perspectives she uses in her daily practice include Client-Centered, Dialectical-Behavioural, Cognitive-Behavioural, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), Narrative, and some Internal Family Systems (IFS) from a trauma-informed and Bowenian Family Systems model.

Sian feels the most satisfying part of being a psychologist is that she finds the work meaningful. She aims to work with clients to facilitate growth, develop skills and share techniques to ensure counselling is a valuable experience.

Dr. Stillar works from a client centred perspective, which means that she values that her client’s are the experts of their own lives. Dr. Stillar works collaboratively with clients to develop a treatment approach that meets the specific needs of each client she works with.

She provides individual counselling to children, teens and adults. She also works with couples and families. Dr. Stillar is trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples. She also uses EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy.

Dr. Stillar recognizes the benefits of taking a family approach to treatment, as parents and caregivers can be tremendous supports when a loved one is struggling with a mental health concern. Dr. Stillar uses Emotion-Focused Family Therapy to help parents and caregivers support their loved’s recovery.

Dr. Stillar specializes in working with eating disorders across the lifespan. She aims to help clients achieve life long recovery through addressing the underlying issues of their symptoms while also helping them gain insight into their struggles and develop alternative healthy coping strategies.

Ruchelle is a Registered Psychologist who strives to create a warm, supportive and safe environment for clients to discuss their concerns. Using a client-centered and trauma informed approach, she supports her clients in exploring how their experiences and environments have influenced their beliefs and shaped their lives. She values collaboration with her clients and enjoys working with people from different cultures and backgrounds. 

Ruchelle has specialized training in working with children and teens using Play therapy, Sand tray and Art interventions to help them express their emotions and concerns.  Her approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) Ruchelle works with children, teenagers and adults.

Karen is a Registered Psychologist who works together with clients to find ways to navigate moving toward their hopes and goals.
